Successful manufaction automatic coconut shelling separate machine
(TVU) – Following the success of researching and manufacturing a device to measure the percentage of waxy coconuts, the research team of Tra Vinh University continues to develop the field of science and technology with the project "Manufacturing a coconut shelling machine in Tra Vinh province serves the production of coir silk coconut”.
With this project, the research team wishes to research and manufacture a model of coconut shelling machine suitable for coir production in Tra Vinh province with a separation rate of 92.42%.
M.A Dang Hoang Vu - Lecturer of Mechanics-Dynamics Department - School of Engineering and Technology, Project Manager, said: In order for the machine to separate coconut with size from 140 mm to 270 mm and different accuracy of coconut, The group must determine the separation capacity of the separation shaft and the appropriate separation force for all types of coconuts (nearly dried coconut, fully dried coconut...)
Automatic coconut shelling separate machine
The machine is designed to load data and separate from 2 to 3 coconuts at the same time with a capacity of 600 to 800 coconuts/hour. Through the loading system, the coconut is put into the separation area to ensure the safety of the workers. In addition, the machine also has a conveyor belt that transports directly to the loading data area, helping the machine increase automation in production.
In the process of testing nearly 1200 coconuts of all kinds, the team determined the optimal distance and reasonable arrange size in the design of the separator. After manufacturing and testing at Tra Vinh University, the device was put to the test at a coconut processing facility and was highly appreciated.
The project manager said: The research team wants to commercialize the product this year to response the processing facilities in Tra Vinh province and neighboring provinces. Currently, the device has registered for intellectual property on utility solutions and industrial designs, and in the near future, trademark registration will facilitate product commercialization.
According to the research team, now that the machine has a reasonable price for the facility, the ability to return on investment capital is fast, the group plans to produce many models with the machine capacity according to customer requirements.
With the production capacity of the above shelling machine, it will help businesses save costs and production time in the coconut processing industry. The machine has 3 times higher productivity and 3 times lower production costs compared to hiring workers to split coconut shells by traditional methods.
It is known that coir silk coconut is a product from coconut shells, occupy of a proportion of exports, the demand for and export market for products from coir is very large, but the process of separating the shells to get the coir is still there done by manual method, especially the separation of coconut shells.
The research and manufacturing of machinery and equipment by the research team of Tra Vinh University serving in the coconut processing industry is an necessary trend. Limiting the risk of labor accidents and shortage of unskilled labors, helping high productivity and economy.
