Abstract:
Duyen Hai Thermal Power Genertation Complex has a total installed capacity of 4.490MW
and it is connected to Vietnam’s electricity system through 220kV and 500kV voltages. Hence,
this power generation complex’s operation has great impacts on the national electricity system’s
stability. This paper presents the assessment about the generation complex’s impacts on the
national electricity system. Based on the paper’s findings, some solutions are proposed to improve
the stability of the national electricity system. The complex’s operation mode can change the
stability reserve factor of the whole electricity system. It is necessary to pay attention to the
operation of the Duyen Hai Thermal Power Center and keep its power capacity at the highest level
during the peak time for the Southern Vietnam. After the complex runs fully, it is necessary to
calculate and install the SVC compensation station at the Phu Lam node
