At the forum, Dr. Scott Danielson affirmed the importance and basic principles of international accreditation. They must be regularly and continuously evaluated, reviewed and improved.
In addition, universities also share the advantages and disadvantages often encountered when participating in international accreditation, of which the three biggest difficulties are:
Firstly, for internal communication, it is necessary to have a solution to ensure that all lecturers and employees of relevant departments understand the need for international accreditation, participate in the inspection and operation of the post-accreditation training program.
Second, resources to invest in facilities due to international accreditation standards are very demanding. In addition to meeting the training of the modules in the program, the equipment workshops must always be ready to meet the students' additional practice needs. At the same time, the infrastructure must meet safety and environmental friendliness standards.
Third, international accreditation requires close and deep cooperation of enterprises in the development and operation of training programs. Enterprises must play the most important role in contributing to the output standards of the training program. However, the cooperation between enterprises and schools is only at the level of enterprises receiving internship students, recruiting and evaluating students before and after graduation. How to make private businesses see their benefits when deeply involved in the development of training programs is also a big challenge for educational institutions.
