Abstract:
At present, climate change is one of the major challenges facing humanity. The most obvious phenomenon of climate change is the temperature increment. The rise in global temperature impacts not just humans, but also animals. The temperature change can lead to health issues, particularly heat stress, in livestock. With the advancement of science and technology, there are many intelligent systems designed to support the livestock industry. In this study, we present the development of an Internet of Things (IoT) system designed to monitor and alert heat stress conditions in livestock. As a result, the designed IoT system could track the temperature both inside and outside the livestock house. By depending on Temperature Humidity Index (THI), the system also makes alters if the temperature is at risk of causing heat shock to livestock. In the future, the system could be developed to be applied in livestock farming and help mitigate heat stress in livestock.
