The application of Geographical Information System (GIS) for smart cities, provides not only spatial data but also the full socio-economic information such as population, land, labour, economy, health, education,...GIS plays an important role in sharing database among administration agencies that can be used to build policies and support leaderships in decisions maker in planning and sustainable devel-opment of a country, province or city. This paper proposes appropriate solutions in the implementation of the SDI for smart cities that aims to improve management capabilities through eGovernment services towards digital economic development.
