RESEARCH AND EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVE USE OF FORMWORK FOR PILE CAPS CONSTRUCTION OF HIGH – RISE BUILDINGS
Abstract:
Currently, the construction of reinforced concrete(CONC) pile caps for high-rise buildings have used formwork (FW) made of wood, plastic, steel, brick, aluminum. Each FW type when selected by the engineer is suitable and highly effective. This article analyzes the computation theory, compares and evaluates the effectiveness of the use of FW for CONC pile caps where FW are made of wood, plastic, steel, brick, and aluminum and used in an actual projet. Using the design documents of the CONC pile caps of the actual project works, the authors evaluate the construction of pile caps relying on FW made of different materials as mentioned and compare the evaluated results with those of the actual project. Considering the factors of cost, technique and construction schedule, the FW made of steel, wood and plastic is more cost-effective, simpler construction, faster progress, 1.03 to 1.6 times faster than the FW made of aluminum, brick; and the brick FW is best used for the place where the hydrological water level is higher than the foundation bottom and where the FW cannot be removed and the aluminum FW requires a large initial cost. The influence of the aforementioned factors on the choice of the FW made of wood, plastic, steel, or aluminum for the construction of pile caps for high-rise buildings is analyzed and clarified.
