RESEARCH ON CALCULATING THE BEARING CAPACITY OF CAJUPUT PILES BASED ON THE THEORY OF THE PILE FRICTION. APPLICATION TO CANG LONG DISTRICT'S GEOLOGY
Abstract:
This paper proposes a method of calculating the bearing capacity of the cajeput
pile foundation at the tip of the pile and the bottom of the foundation. Considering cajeput
piles working as friction piles, the author estimated the load bearing capacity of piles in
three geological areas of Cang Long district. Calculation results of the melaleuca poles
with the same length, diameter and density show that the load capacity of the piles is from
95,535 kN/m 2 to 106,378 kN/m 2 . Comparing the author’s calculation results with those
obtained from research experiments and with a default value frequently used in design
show a difference from 3,405% to 15,141% and from -26,728% to -34,197%, respectively.
Therefore, the author proposes a reasonable method to achieve the load capacity of the
melaleuca piles for each type of geology in Cang Long district. This is the basis to
determine the bearing capacity of cajeput piles and achieve high reinforced grounds,
which is suitable to the technical characteristics, geological conditions, while ensuring the
technical criteria and economic value of a project.
